Neil was born on September 20 1919 in Glace Bay Nova Scotia as the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rod MacDonald (both deceased) of Glace Bay. His older brother Roderick Philip MacDonald was his first next of kin but became insane and was not capable anymore and the other brother John took it therefore over then. His other siblings were Michael, Aloysius, Mary and Margaret MacDonald.
He was an apprentice carpenter and member of the Roman Catholic Church.
He enlisted on September 13 1943 in Vancouver and he went on May 7 1944 overseas to the UK and he went thereafter on November 11 to NW Europe.
Neil was missing and killed in action on Monday February 19 1945 age 25 in the A Coy near the Moyland Wood during the battle of the Rhineland. And he was temporarily buried in Bedburg Hau Germany and he was then on September 19 1945 reburied in Groesbeek.
His medals were: 1939-45 Star; France Germany Star; War Medal and CVSM & Clasp.
Paul was born on February 28 1918 in Hamilton Ontario as the son of James (deceased) and Emma Stuart. He was married on November 11 1942 in St Johns New Foundland with Ida Mary Stuart, of Kitchener, Ontario and their son was Paul Benedict Stuart. His sisters were Mary Lees, Anne Brown, Ellen and Ruth Stuart.
He was a knitting machine fixer and member of the Roman Catholic Church. He was interested in baseball and rugby and read considerably, good magazines and travel books.
He enlisted on July 18 1940 in the Niagara Camp Ontario and he went on July 22 1943 overseas to the UK and he went thereafter on October 7 1944 to France.
Paul was missed and killed in action on Sunday February 18 1945 age 26 in the C Coy at the Moyland Wood during the battle of the Rhineland. And he was temporarily buried in Bedburg Hau Germany and he was then on September 12 1945 reburied in Groesbeek.

Peter was born on July 12 1925 in Fernie British Columbia, the son of William and Helen Stefak, (both Polish) of British Columbia. They were married on May 5 1924 in Fernie. His mother ( in Fernie) and father (Vancouver) lived later separated. His sister was Ann Stefak.
He was an engine fitter at a shipyard and member of the Roman Catholic Church and he spoke Ukrainian and English.
He enlisted on March 24 1944 in Vancouver and he went on October 12 overseas to the UK and he went thereafter on November 11 to NW Europe.

Ralph was born on January 23 1916 in Davidson Saskatchewan as the son of Cyrus Alonso and Elta (deceased) Leach and both American. Ruth Florence Ostrum of Trail British Columbia was his common law wife and their daughter was Katherine Florence Leach. He also received permission on September 15 1945 to marry Sophia Looijen of Ede (Holland), just some months before he died.
His brothers were Scott, Earl, Ivan and Ray Leach and his sisters were Helen Johnson, Sadie and Mabel Leach.
He was a platers helper and member of the United Church. He had earlier had his own farm at Big River and had spent two years at the Cominco smelter at Trail. He enjoyed sports like baseball, softball, hunting, swimming and boxing. He read western stories, sport magazines and detectives.
He enlisted on May 4 1944 1942 in Vancouver and he went on December 31 1944 overseas to the UK and he went thereafter on March 24 1945 to NW Europe. He was wounded on April 20 and taken to a hospital on April 26 1945 due to a flesh wound at his thigh and discharged on April 28.
Ralph died in a hospital on Thursday December 20 1945 age 29 after an operation of a spontaneous rupture of his spleen by natural cause. And he was buried after that on December 21 in Groesbeek.
His medals were: 1939-45 Star and France Germany Star.
Richard was born on July 12 1925 in Shell Lake Saskatchewan as the son of Mr. Flebbe (German) and Cora (American) Bush. His stepfather was Edward Bush. His brothers were Louis, Conrad and William Flebbe ( all three in the Canadian army too) and his sisters Elsie Carper and Iona Haffter.
He was a shipyard worker and member of the Lutheran Church (OD).
He enlisted on July 14 1943 in Vancouver and he went on October 20 1944 overseas to the UK and he went thereafter on November 18 to NW Europe.
Richard was killed in action on Tuesday February 20 1945 age 19 in the B Coy at the Moyland Wood during the battle of the Rhineland. And he was temporarily buried in Bedburg Hau Germany and he was then on September 19 1945 reburied in Groesbeek.
His medals were: 1939-45 Star; France Germany Star; War Medal; CVSM & Clasp.
Robert was born on April 28 1925 in Lethbridge Alberta as the son of John Edward and Jennie Kathleen Ludlow (both English), of Nelson, British Columbia. His parents were married on September 20 1921 in Nelson. His brothers were John Edward, William Montgomery, Richard Vernon and Laurence Alvin Ludlow.
He was an express porter and member of the United Church.
He enlisted on October 28 1943 in Vancouver and he went on July 4 1944 overseas to the UK and he went thereafter on December 29 to NW Europe.

Robert was born on June 29 1912 in Wetaskiwin Alberta as the son of William Rufus and Lillian Winnifred Mae Shearing of Victoria British Columbia. They were married on November 15 1905 in London England. He was married on December 4 1935 in St Johns Victoria with Annie Shearing, of Saanich, British Columbia. His brothers were William Archibald and Cyril Wilfred Shearing (in the army overseas too) and his sister was Emmaline Shearing.
He was a painter and member of the Church of England. His hobby was oil painting and he liked music like mouth organ, classical music, light opera and visiting clubs.
He enlisted on July 9 1942 in Victoria and he went on November 29 1944 overseas to the UK and he went thereafter on December 30 to NW Europe.
Robert was missed and killed in action on Sunday February 18 1945 age 32 in the C Coy at the Moyland Wood during the battle of the Rhineland. And he was temporarily buried in Bedburg Hau Germany and he was then on September 13 1945 reburied in Groesbeek.

Sam was born on April 25 1924 in Inglis Manitoba as the son of Mr. (Russian) and Margaret (Ukrainian) Flundra. He was married with Catherine Rose Flundra nee Benin, of Kitchener, Ontario. She remarried after the war as Mrs. Kozak.
He was a labourer and member of the Greek Catholic Church. He spoke English and Ukrainian.
He enlisted on February 8 1944 in Brantford Ontario and he went on June 24 overseas to the UK and he went thereafter on July 23 to France. And he was wounded in action on July 30 and then evacuated to an English hospital and he disembarked again on October 13 to NW Europe. He was then wounded in action again on October 31.
Sam died of wounds on Wednesday November 28 1944 age 20 in the B Coy near Groesbeek and he was temporarily buried in Nijmegen and he was then on August 8 1945 reburied in Groesbeek.

Stanley was born on July 14 1923 in Wadhams Cannery British Columbia as the son of Chief Johnnie Louie and Adele Louie, of Pender Harbour, British Columbia. His brothers were John, Albert Louie and his sister was Louise Louie.
He was a logger and member of the Roman Catholic Church and he attended an Indian school.
He enlisted on April 27 1944 in Vancouver and he went on November 29 overseas to the UK and he went thereafter on December 30 to NW Europe.
Stanley was killed in action on Monday February 19 1945 age 21 in the A Coy near the Moyland Wood during the battle of the Rhineland and he was temporarily buried in Bedburg Hau Germany and he was on September 19 1945 reburied in Groesbeek.
